Thanks to its industrial engineering profile, the Technical Management (TEM) degree programme prepares students specifically for a career at the interface between technology and business. The following qualifications are taught in this particularly practice-orientated degree programme:
The internship semester and the Practical Engineering Project (PREP) provide intensive practical relevance. During PREP, students work in a team on a task from the field of product development or industrial engineering and at the same time expand their project management skills. In the last two semesters, students can choose lectures from an extensive catalogue of subjects and thus deepen their knowledge of the subject according to their individual wishes.
In order to optimally prepare students for the challenges of a globalised world, selected specialist courses are offered in English. We also support students in spending six months abroad. This can take the form of a study semester, the practical phase or the final thesis.
The Bachelor's degree programme in Technical Management (B. Eng.) qualifies graduates to work at the interface between technology, business administration and management in manufacturing companies.
Students acquire sound technical skills in the areas of production technology and Industry 4.0 as well as business management knowledge for the efficient design of production processes. As future managers, they are prepared to drive forward technical innovations, optimise processes and lead teams in a goal-oriented manner.
Your career opportunities are extremely diverse. Graduates are ideally qualified for demanding tasks in quality management, work preparation and factory planning, the design of production logistics processes, production controlling and technical purchasing. They can also go on to complete a corresponding Master's programme, e.g. the Master's in Technical Management at Heilbronn University.
A compulsory German language course is also part of the programme.
In the main course, the fundamentals are expanded and a broad range of subject-specific knowledge is taught.
The newly acquired knowledge and skills are then applied in the internship, in which students work independently in an industrial company on real tasks.
In the advanced studies programme you choose your areas of focus, based on your experience from the practical semester.
The degree programme concludes with the Bachelor’s thesis, in which a project at the university or in cooperation with a company is independently planned, organised and implemented.
International experience is an important decision criterion for many companies when selecting applicants. As part of your degree programme, you have the opportunity to complete a university semester and/or the practical semester (5th semester) abroad. We have contacts abroad through our partner universities and through the international activities of international companies.
