Course Content

The degree programme in Management, Accounting & Taxation is essentially based on the knowledge of classical business administration and also imparts in-depth knowledge in the fields of accounting, auditing, controlling, finance and taxation.

Students on this degree programme will:

  • Become acquainted with the mechanisms, actors and instruments of the financial markets
  • Learn how to create, present and analyse annual and consolidate financial statements
  • Learn how to record and optimise the tax situation of a company
  • and to analyse and assess the efficiency, profitability and liquidity of a company.

    The degree programme is rounded off by a practical semester comprising first-class guest lectures, networking events and a potential semester abroad.

  • Course Structure

    The study programme is modular. A module can comprise one or more teaching events that are grouped thematically.

    In the first two academic semesters you will be taught sound basic business skills which are divided into the following modules:

    Foundation studies (1st and 2nd semesters)

  • Economic principles of management
  • Management decisions in operational performance processes
  • Quantitative methods and business information systems
  • Business English
  • Principles of corporate accounting
  • Legal and tax framework of management
  • Academic work   
  • In the main course, the ‘FAT’ degree programme will teach you in-depth skills in the areas of finance, external and internal accounting and business taxation. This will also include international technical aspects as well as building-up and extending language skills in business English. The degree programme is rounded off by a practical semester, outside visits, guest lectures, networking events and the potential of a semester abroad. The following comprise the higher-level modules of the main study programme:

  • Internal accounting (management accounting)
  • External accounting: Annual and consolidated financial statements
  • External accounting: Financial statement analysis and further reporting instruments
  • Financial management
  • IT in corporate accounting
  • Business taxation (tax management)
  • Business law, auditing and digitalisation
  • Business English
  • Ethical and social issues of management   
  • A compulsory practical semester is integrated into the degree programme in the 5th semester. This is an opportunity to apply in practice the knowledge you have acquired so far. You will be supervised by a professor and be supported by our Internship Office.

    Are you interested in spending a semester abroad? Then you have the opportunity to study for a semester at one of our partner universities or to complete an internship abroad. In doing so, you will have the support of our International Office.
