HIT

The Heilbronn Institute of Technology (HIT) connects teaching, applied research, and knowledge transfer. Through industrial projects and publicly funded initiatives, we create practical learning environments and make the university's research and development achievements visible. Students from bachelor's and master's programs are actively involved in development and research projects – both in cooperation with regional industry and in national and international funding programs.

The members are professors from various technical disciplines whose interdisciplinary collaboration is promoted and coordinated.

Research Focus Areas

The Heilbronn Institute of Technology conducts research in the field of Automotive & Mobility, focusing on alternative drive technologies, automated and connected driving, and sustainable concepts for the future of the automotive industry. 

Another research focus is Materials Processing & Engineering. This area deals with the development and optimization of production and manufacturing processes as well as the research of promising, generative materials and substances.

The Heilbronn Institute of Technology (HIT) brings together specialized centers under one roof and creates an interdisciplinary platform for innovative technologies and forward-looking developments. The institute's goal is to promote application-oriented research, utilize synergies between individual departments, and strengthen collaboration with industry and academia.
