Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences offers an attractive environment for those interested in pursuing a doctorate and for doctoral candidates already engaged in their research, supporting both their academic and personal development. With diverse research activities, dedicated supervisors and a strong network, it provides the ideal conditions for a successful academic career.

The Research and Graduate Centre (FuGZ) is the central point of contact for early-career researchers and supervisors at Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences. It accompanies young academic talents through all phases of their academic development and supports them in planning and achieving their career goals.

The general responsibilities of the FuGZ include providing information and advisory services related to doctoral studies, administering support for doctoral candidates, designing and advertising funding schemes, and organising interdisciplinary qualification and networking opportunities. In addition, the FuGZ promotes national and international networking among early-career researchers and acts as a liaison to the Association for Doctoral Studies at the Universities of Applied Sciences in Baden-Württemberg (Promotionsverband).

Ursula Ida Lapp Scholarship

As part of the Ursula Ida Lapp Scholarship, a female doctoral candidate from the STEM fields has been supported since 2025.

The call for applications for a second scholarship holder is currently open. The application deadline is 31 October 2026.
