MIBIM / TFS Application Procedure

Please read these instructions carefully and follow them closely to ensure a complete, valid, and timely application submission. Incomplete and/or late applications will not be considered.  All application documents must be received by July 15. 

STEP 1: Apply to Studienkolleg Konstanz 

Applies only to applicants with a non-German Bachelor’s Degree

Recommended Deadline: June 1

Before applying to Heilbronn University, non-German Bachelor degrees need to be declared equivalent to a German first degree. Find out more about the degree recognition process on our university's Application Process for Master Programmes page.

Keep in mind that this Studienkolleg Konstanz recognition must be received by Heilbronn University along with all other application documents by the application deadline.  It is not possible to send the certificate at a later date.

STEP 2: Apply to Heilbronn University

Applies to all applicants.

Deadline: July 15 – NO EXCEPTIONS

All applicants must complete the following steps to apply to Heilbronn University.  The application period begins in early- to mid-May for the Winter Semester, and it is not possible to apply earlier.

1. Create an account on Heilbronn University's Application Portal. 

After completing and submitting the online form, you must print and sign the document. This signed document must be sent with your other application documents.

2. Complete the online application process, filling in the required information and choosing the programme(s) to which you would like to apply.

It is possible to apply for up to three study programmes within our International Business cluster:

  • M.Sc. International Business & Intercultural Management
  • M.Sc. Tourism Futures Studies
  • M.Sc. Nachhaltige Tourismusentwicklung


3. Upload your application documents directly in the Application Portal.

Unless specifically noted, the documents below are required for your application. For the application process, scanned, simple copies of your documents can be uploaded as jpg, jpeg, pdf, and/or png files. In case of admission, students may be requested to present either the original documents or certified true copies of the required documents when getting enrolled. Sworn translations are necessary if the original documents are not issued in German or English.

  • General Certificate of Education or other school leaving certificate (high school diploma)
  • First Degree Certificate relevant to this application and Transcript of Academic Record (Bachelor's degree)
  • Proof of English-language proficiency (see Admission Requirements for a list of accepted documents)
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Letter of Motivation (approximately 2 pages in English language)
  • In case of a non-German first degree, a copy of the recognition email received Studienkolleg Certificate
  • Certificate confirming your study/internship abroad (if you claim to have this experience)
  • Testimonial confirming your relevant work experience after completion of your first degree (if you claim to have work experience)

Documents sent to any other location OR received after the deadline will not be considered.

4. Await the admission decision. 

Admission decisions are announced only after the July 15th deadline, and admission offers are usually sent in early August. Further information about the admission and enrollment process can be found on the university's Application Process for Master Programmes page under "Apply & Enroll".
