Welcome to Campus Künzelsau: International Students Start the Winter Semester

Künzelsau, September 2026. The Reinhold-Würth-Hochschule, Campus Künzelsau of Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences, is welcoming students from around the world for the winter semester 2026/27. This semester, 15 exchange students from China, Spain, Indonesia and Kazakhstan have joined the campus. Among them are four students from Spain who are completing the Double Degree programme in Energy Systems Engineering and Management and Industrial Engineering. In addition, several international degree-seeking students have started their studies in the Bachelor’s programme in Energy Systems Engineering and Management and the International Master’s programme in Technical Innovation.

To help international students settle into their studies and everyday life in Germany, the campus organised a dedicated programme during the orientation week. The programme was designed to make the transition to a new country and university as smooth as possible and to give students the opportunity to get to know both the region and each other.

One of the highlights was an intercultural training session, which prepared the students for everyday life and studying in Germany. It provided an opportunity to discuss cultural differences, expectations and practical aspects of living and studying in a new cultural environment.

The international students also took part in the regular campus orientation programme, including the popular Künzelsau Rally and the barbecue with professors on the Mensa terrace. These activities provided plenty of opportunities to meet fellow students, get to know the campus and start building a network from the very first days.

A special highlight was the group trip to Schwäbisch Hall. During a guided city tour, the students discovered the history and cultural heritage of the historic town. Afterwards, the group spent the evening together in a traditional beer garden. With students from different countries and academic backgrounds coming together, many interesting conversations developed and offered opportunities to learn more about different cultures, experiences and perspectives.

The orientation week concluded with a trip to Stuttgart, organised by the International Office. The students visited the Mercedes-Benz Museum, where they explored the history of mobility and the development of the automobile, before having time to discover Stuttgart and the city centre on their own.

The orientation week was not only about practical information and getting familiar with a new campus. It was also about meeting people, sharing experiences and discovering different perspectives. For many of the international students, it marked the beginning of a new experience in Germany and the first opportunity to build connections with fellow students from different parts of the world.

The entire team at Campus Künzelsau wishes all new international students a successful start to their studies and an enjoyable and enriching semester in Germany. We are very happy to welcome you to Künzelsau and hope that you will make many great memories during your time at HHN.
