Are you interested in pursuing a doctorate in Germany and would like to learn more about doctoral opportunities at a University of Applied Sciences (HAW) in Baden-Württemberg? This information session is designed for international students and provides an introduction to the German academic system and the role of doctoral research within it. You will learn about doctoral procedures and admission requirements, explore the two pathways to earning a doctorate at a HAW in Baden-Württemberg, and gain insight into funding opportunities and general framework conditions. The session will also offer practical advice on how to find a suitable doctoral supervisor and provide an opportunity to ask questions about planning your academic career and pursuing a doctorate in Germany.

Speakers

Dr. Daniele Nuccetelli has been working at Heilbronn University since 2022 in the Internationalization Unit, where he is responsible for the International Career Service. In this role, he primarily advises international students on career planning and development. He studied English and German Studies and completed his PhD in Literary and Cultural Studies at the University of Roma Tre and the University of Stuttgart.

M.A. Melanie Müller-Mugele has been employed at Heilbronn University since 2021, where she has taken on various roles and responsibilities. She currently works at the Department for Equity and Diversity and is involved in the doctora doctoral program, among other initiatives. She is pursuing a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Gender Studies at the Universitat Jaume I in Castellón.
