FAQ about the University Account
You will receive an email from the IT Service Center containing your staff account credentials.
All employees are advised to regularly connect their laptops to the “notebook” network. It is essential that your laptop is connected to this network during the startup process.
If eduVPN does not appear as an installed program on your device, this indicates that your laptop has not been restarted while connected to the “notebook” network for some time.
Please follow these three steps:
Connect your laptop to the “notebook” network and enable “Connect automatically”.
Shut down your laptop completely.
Restart your laptop and ensure that it remains connected to the “notebook” network during the entire boot process, even before the login screen appears.
Your device will display a light blue screen and perform OPSI updates. After the updates are complete, the normal login screen will appear.
Depending on the number of updates required, you may need to repeat this process several times.
You can download the recommended password manager KeePassXC here.
Your login details for Eduroam are:
Students: username@stud.hs-heilbronn.de
Students: username@hs-heilbronn.de
and your university account password.
Solution 1: Delete the Eduroam network from the existing networks in your device's Wi-Fi settings and try logging in again using your email address as your login name and your password.
Solution 2: Install the Eduroam installer from https://cat.eduroam.org/. After downloading it, try logging in again.
If these approaches do not help, please contact the Rechenzentrum directly at ticket@hs-heilbronn.de.
Please check the time settings on the devices you are using for registration. The times should be set automatically and not manually. The one-time codes are time-dependent and can therefore cause errors if the time settings on your devices are different.
If that does not help, you can try setting up the account with a different device/mobile phone or a different authenticator app. Alternatively, you are welcome to visit the Helpdesk.
You have lost your second factor and want to register a new one. Detailed instructions are available for this.
