This innovative Blended Intensive Programme enables graduate students to develop the leadership skills required to succeed in an ever-changing, technology-driven and interconnected world. Building on foundational leadership theories, the programme emphasizes future skills — the human, digital and socio-emotional competencies that will define effective leadership in the decades ahead. During an intensive, immersive week combined with online preparation and reflective self-study, participants will explore how leaders can navigate complexity, collaborate with AI systems, build resilient and diverse teams, and lead ethically and sustainably in dynamic global environments. Learning is deeply experiential, combining interactive workshops, case analyses and mindfulness-based self-leadership practices with an initial self-assessment to establish baseline competencies and personal development goals. The intensive week centres on a collaborative group challenge, in which international teams of students analyse a specific leadership approach. They then design, develop and facilitate a practical training exercise for their peers, fostering peer feedback and cross-institutional learning. This exercise also enables students to apply theory to real-world scenarios. By the end of the programme, participants will have completed a personalized self-assessment, developed an in-depth understanding of their leadership style and areas for development, and applied cutting-edge leadership tools to real-life challenges. They will be well-placed to influence, rather than simply react to, the future of work.

The course and all the insights helped me a lot to improve my weaknesses in the field of leadership. For me personally, my own leadership development never stops and I want to improve constantly not only my weaknesses but also my strengths, because in our changing and agile world people always have to adapt to new circumstances and challenges.
Die Veranstaltung Leadership war für mich besonders, weil es kein klassisches Vorlesungsmodell war. Durch das Aneignen einiger Inhalte im Selbststudium konnte man selbst die Rolle des Lehrenden einnehmen und seinen Kommilitonen eigene Inhalte vermitteln.
Eines meiner Highlights war die Vorbereitung eines interaktiven Leadership-Trainings am Ende des Kurses zu einem zuvor gewählten Themas.
Wir konnten mal sagen, wie wir eine Vorlesung gestalten würden und konnten diese dann auch durchführen. Das war mal was anderes und kreativ.

Students gain deep insights into leadership theories such as transactional and transformational approaches and their effects on motivation and teamwork. They learn to actively promote innovation and change management, and assess their knowledge through case studies, discussions, and presentations.

Students train practical leadership skills and decision-making competencies by applying theories to real-world problems. Interactive methods such as workshops and role-plays sharpen their communication and conflict management skills. Students learn to optimize teamwork by integrating different perspectives and improve their communication and feedback culture through group projects. They train to resolve conflicts empathetically and ethically and create a work environment that stimulates creativity and innovation.
Personal Competence: Independence
The students practice making independent decisions and taking responsibility in leadership roles, as well as self-directed learning for their continuous development. Through self-reflection, they recognize their leadership qualities and styles, learn to proactively meet challenges, and find creative solutions. They are encouraged to bring initiative and a spirit of innovation into their projects.

Didactic Experiment Mindfulness 2023:
HUGS Goes Yoga
Many large German corporations have now recognized the importance of mindfulness in life and that this topic should also be integrated into everyday professional life. In a didactic experiment in the summer semester of 2023, we started our 'Leadership' course in the Master's program at MU with yoga and mindfulness on every lecture day of the blocked event. Starting the day with mindfulness and yoga makes it so much more beautiful! My thanks go to the motivated students :-)
Due to the positive feedback from the participants we will integrate different mindfulness activities into the curriculum of the course.
