Each examination may be repeated twice. After the second re-take, you have to have a consultation meeting. The faculty will tell you who your advisor is.
Proof of counseling must be provided for each further third attempt.
If you have failed one or more examinations for the third time, you will also receive a letter from the Examinations Office. You have then lost your right to take examinations and must be de-registered, unless you can compensate for the examination in question with other examinations you have already passed in the module.

You can apply to have a maximum of five additional examinations from the range of subjects offered by Heilbronn University or foreign partner universities. The grades of this exams will not be included in your overall grade.
An examination that was taken outside of your own degree program (i.e. for which you are not enrolled at the time), i.e. as an additional subject, cannot be recognized for your own degree program.
The application for compensation must be submitted to the Examinations Office. If you have any questions about compensation, please contact the person responsible for you at the Examinations Office.
The application can be submitted at any time after receipt of the grade of the examination to be compensated.
The ECTS of the compensated examination will only be visible in your transcript of records when you pass the entire module, but at the earliest when you complete your studies. In the case of compensation in the foundation course, the ECTS are deemed to have been earned when the certificate for the Bachelor's preliminary examination is issued.
If you have failed an examination definitively, i.e. three times, you can check whether compensation is possible. If it is an examination that cannot be compensated (according to BT of the SPO), you will be de-registered as you have lost your right to take the examination. If compensation is possible with other examinations in the module, there is no de-registration, regardless of whether compensation can be made directly or is theoretically possible in the future. The individual number of examination attempts is not affected by this and remains at three attempts.

In both cases, the submission deadline must be met. If the deadline for submitting the thesis falls on a weekend or a public holiday, the thesis must be submitted on the following working day.
The thesis can be dropped in the mailbox or sent in by post.
The Examination Office will send you confirmation that the thesis has been submitted. At the same time, you will also receive the documents required for graduation. You must complete these and return them to the Examinations Office.
The thesis can be repeated once if the grade is lower than (4.0). A second repetition is not permitted.
The issue of a new topic must be requested in writing from the chairperson of the examination board within two months of the announcement of the failure. You will receive a letter from the Examinations Office about the exact procedure and the time frame.

To prepare your final documents, you need to give us a completed and signed module grade combination. In this you indicate your electives and specializations. The application for the certificate and all other necessary forms are provided by the Examination Office. You will receive these when you submit your thesis and must complete, sign and return them to the Examinations Office. Then we will prepare your graduation documents.

The certificate will be issued a little later due to system-relevant work processes. It will be presented to you at the graduation ceremony.
You will receive an invitation per mail from the event management or directly from your degree program.
Please get in touch with your responsible clerk at the Examination Office.

A fee of 15.00 euros is charged for the re-issue of a certificate of exmatriculation.
Please contact the Examinations Office for the application.
