Registration

According to § 26 of the study and examination regulations for 6- or 7-semester Bachelor's degree programs, the topic of the Bachelor's thesis (the final thesis of a Bachelor's degree program) must be submitted to:

  • 7-semester degree programs in the sixth semester at the earliest
  • 6-semester degree programs in the fifth semester at the earliest

According to § 21 of the study and examination regulations for 3- or 4-semester Master's degree programs, the topic of the Master's thesis (the final thesis of a Master's degree program) must be submitted to:

  • 3-semester degree programs  after the lecture period of the second semester at the earliest
  • 4-semester degree programs in the fourth semester at the earliest

Registration is only possible in writing. It is not necessary to register via eCampus.

Students must be enrolled for the current semester at the time of registration. The thesis can be completed while the student is exmatriculated.

Extension

The processing time is four months for the Bachelor's thesis and six months for the Master's thesis.

The time required to complete the thesis may be extended by a maximum of two months upon application and with the approval of the Examination Board.

Delivery

The thesis is deemed to have been submitted when the examination copy together with an affidavit (see respective SPO) has been received by the clerk responsible for the degree program at the Central Examination Office.

For the submission of further copies, the regulations specific to the degree program must be observed.
