To use VPN access via eduVPN, you must have successfully completed the initial registration with your username and your initial password.
Installation
First help for problems with eduVPN
Please read the following instructions and tips for using VPN if you encounter any problems while using it.
- First help for problems with eduVPN: Please restart your computer. Depending on the device, a restart may be necessary.
- After restarting, problems with eduVPN persist:
- Please click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of eduVPN (this will take you to the “Settings” page, where you can select “Prefer TCP connection”).
- Exit the settings page by selecting the “<” button in the upper left corner.
- Now select the desired profile (e.g., “Old World Access”) and press the slider in the middle.
- Read the step-by-step instructions for regular registration and use of eduVPN to familiarize yourself with eduVPN.
eduVPN profiles
You can select different profiles in the eduVPN app. The systems currently available, which you can access via the different profiles, are listed below.
“Old World Access” profile
The “Old World Access” profile gives you intranet access and allows you to access other internal HHN applications.
Profilem “Standard network for students”
The VPN profile “Standardnetz Studierende...” gives you access to the internet as an HHN student. You can authenticate yourself as an HHN student to external services.
Profile “Standard network of employees”
The VPN profile “Employees...” gives you access to systems in the new environment.
Profile “Students Faculty X”
The VPN profile “Students Faculty IB/T1/IT/X” gives you access to specific applications for the faculties.
