The degree programme Management and Sales provides a broad and well-founded education in business administration with a clear focus on market-oriented activities and entrepreneurial decision-making processes.
Students acquire fundamental knowledge in key areas of business administration such as management, accounting, law, economics and quantitative methods. In addition, they learn how to systematically address academic research questions and produce well-founded analyses.
Building on this foundation, the programme focuses on market- and customer-oriented contexts, particularly the planning, implementation and management of sales and marketing activities. Students learn how companies enter markets, position products and services, acquire customers and build long-term business relationships.
Another component of the programme is the study of human decision-making and purchasing behaviour, communication, and collaboration in teams and projects. This is complemented by content on project management as well as practice-oriented language training in Business English, preparing students for international fields of activity.
A particular emphasis is placed on the practical application of the knowledge acquired. Through an integrated practical semester and application-oriented courses, students learn to transfer business and sales-related concepts to real-life corporate situations.
From the main phase of the programme onwards, students can choose a specialisation in Finance, Retail or Industry and deepen their subject-specific knowledge, while interdisciplinary courses remain an integral part of the degree. Alternatively, students may pursue a broad focus within the Management and Sales programme and graduate with a general degree. In total, four degree options are available.
During the main phase of study, the curriculum is divided into three industry-oriented specialisations:
In the Finance specialisation, students acquire knowledge of financial and insurance products and their customer-oriented distribution. They learn to understand economic interrelationships, advise clients and assess current developments in the financial sector.
The Retail specialisation provides a comprehensive understanding of the distribution of consumer goods in both physical and digital retail environments. Students focus on customer behaviour, retail marketing, and the planning and management of product ranges and sales processes in retail companies.
In the Industry specialisation, students become familiar with the specific characteristics of selling industrial goods and technical solutions. They acquire economic and technical fundamentals in order to market complex products to business customers and support sales projects in industrial companies.
From the third semester onwards, students may choose a specialisation according to their interests and intended career path.
Graduates of the Management and Sales degree programme possess versatile business and sales-related competencies and are qualified to work in a wide range of industries. Possible fields of employment include sales, marketing, key account management, customer relationship management, business development, product management, project management, sales controlling, market analysis, sales operations, as well as after-sales and service functions.
By choosing a specialisation in Finance, Retail or Industry, students can sharpen their professional profile and prepare for sector-specific roles, for example in financial and insurance companies, retail organisations, or industrial and technology firms. In addition, the programme opens up opportunities for positions of responsibility in specialist and managerial roles, as well as for further academic qualification through a master’s degree.
In the first two semesters, students acquire a broad foundation in business administration and methodological skills. The focus is on the fundamentals of business administration, economics, accounting and the legal framework of economic activity. This is complemented by applied mathematics, statistics, cost accounting, and management decision-making in operational value creation processes, which convey key interrelationships of entrepreneurial activity.
In addition, students are introduced to academic working methods and further develop their English language skills in a business context. The foundation phase therefore provides the subject-specific and methodological basis for all subsequent components of the degree programme.
The Management and Sales program has open admission. You can enroll directly if you meet the entry requirements.
