Probationary study period
What is the probationary study period?
The probationary study period am is a special opportunity for international prospective students. It is designed for individuals who wish to study in a bachelor’s program at Heilbronn University that does not require an entrance exam, but who are unable to obtain direct admission to a degree program in Germany. While they hold a high school diploma or equivalent qualification from their home country, this is not sufficient for admission to a degree program in Germany. To gain direct admission to a university, you would need to pass the assessment exam or have already studied for one or two years in your home country.
Through the probationary study period, you can begin your studies immediately following a counseling session and demonstrate during the first two semesters that you meet the requirements for the program. If you are successful, you may continue the probationary study period you have started on a regular basis.
The probationary study period is currently available for the following degree program
Additional degree programs may be added in the future.
How does the probationary study period work?
- You will study alongside the other students in the Global Digital Management program.
- You will attend lectures and take exams just like everyone else.
- You must earn at least 40 credit points (ECTS) within a period of typically 2 semesters.
- Changing your program or taking a leave of absence is not possible during these two semesters. The probationary study period also does not qualify you for admission to another German university.
- If you pass the probationary study period, you will receive official admission and may continue your studies in the program.
- If you do not pass the probationary study period, your studies at Heilbronn University will end.
