Course Content
This Master's programme combines tourism with the fields of public economics, management, geography and law, as well as the forward-looking field of sustainability.
The programme aims to train individuals who can actively contribute their academic and professional experience and work together to develop innovative solutions for the upcoming changes. The aim is to train experts with interface competences for the planning and sustainable development of tourist destinations in the broader sense, i.e. local authorities, regional destinations, but also larger investment projects such as (hotel) resorts or leisure parks.
In addition to compulsory subjects in the areas of sustainability management and tourism, TNM students choose individual specializations from a wide range of electives in the second semester to sharpen their profile. Topics offered include:

Programme Structure

Requirements and Application
To be considered for admission, applicants must possess the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree of 210 ECTS* in tourism, geography, planning, environmental studies, economics, social sciences, or a similar field with a minimum overall grade of 2.5 or equivalent (German grading system)
*Applicants with 180 ECTS may also apply, with the condition that an additional 30 ECTS be earned by taking Bachelor's courses.
German language proficiency at C1 level (fluent)
English language proficiency at B2 level (advanced)
Applicants apply directly to Heilbronn University via the application portal during the application period. The application portal opens in early May with the application deadline being July 15th each year. In addition to the completion of the online application, several documents must also be submitted.
When applying with non-German educational certificates, an additional application step is required for degree recognition. We recommend this recognition process be started no later than June 1st to ensure a timely application to Heilbronn University.
