KIRA
AI-powered matching of individual and labor market requirements for continuing professional development
In the KIRA project, we are using AI to develop personalized learning opportunities. Keeping knowledge up to date in the context of digitalization is one of the most pressing issues in vocational training. The project is developing an AI-powered system to match individual needs with labor market requirements, with the aim of delivering learning opportunities and micro-credentials that are tailored to and precisely aligned with individual needs.

Research Approach and Contribution
Learning formats, learning needs, and learning outcomes are modeled and integrated with reference processes, data models, and system architectures that demonstrate how data, information, and knowledge flows within the continuing vocational education ecosystem must be horizontally interconnected. At the same time, AI-based service modules are being developed for the WBS TRAINING AG learning platform to support data-driven matching of individual and labor market-related learning requirements.
To achieve this, relevant data points are identified throughout existing qualification processes and linked together through automated data analysis, thereby strengthening vertical integration. The AI algorithms used serve as a supporting element for structuring, selecting, and combining learning content. Finally, KODIS makes selected algorithms available as Software-as-a-Service via a cloud infrastructure for other learning and training platforms.

The collaborative project KIRA (FKZ 21INVI18), titled "KI-gestütztes Matching individueller und arbeitsmarktbezogener Anforderungen für die berufliche Weiterbildung" ("AI-Supported Matching of Individual and Labor Market Requirements for Continuing Vocational Education and Training"), is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the European Union—NextGenerationEU—under the INVITE funding program: Innovation Competition for Digital Platforms for Continuing Vocational Education and Training.
