The levels of German as a foreign language courses are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Registration for the placement test with Hannelore Lang and Kathrin Koç of the International Office.
According to the test results, students will be assigned to one of the six level groups. The students will be informed promptly.
Information for complete beginners of German: Please note that you'll receive an e-mail with instructions on how to join your German class in mid March.
Information for all other students of German: You'll receive an e-mail with information on the results of the entrance exam prior to commencement of lectures.
Attendance in all German courses is compulsory.
Exchange students who study in Heilbronn for more than one semester and international full-time students are automatically promoted to the next higher course in the following semester if they pass the exam. If they wish to skip a course level, they have to take the placement test again.
Participation in more than one German course during a semester is possible in individual cases and after consultation with all participating lecturers. Please send an informal application (in writing) to N. N. .
