Double Degree
The Faculty of Business offers double degree programs for some bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. Students who are successfully admitted to a program can generally expect to spend one year studying abroad at a partner university and to write a thesis under joint supervision in English. This allows you to earn two official degrees.
The faculty’s Internationalization Office will be happy to advise you on your options for participating in a double degree program.
Applications for a double degree program are submitted through the International Office and the Internationalization Office, just as with regular applications for a study abroad semester. The application process is described in detail under Study Abroad Semester.
Please note: In a double degree program, the courses you are permitted to take at the partner institution are generally predetermined, which means that you do not have free choice of courses.
Bachelor's Programs
Partner University: Vaasa University of Applied Sciences (VAMK), Vaasa, Finland
You will earn the following degrees:
- B.Sc. in Betriebswirtschaft - Logistik und Verkehr (HHN)
- B.BA in International Business, Bachelor of Business Administration (VAMK)
Prerequisites: The foundational studies must be completed before the study abroad period; it is recommended to begin the program in the 4th or 5th semester
Start date at the partner university: Always in the winter semester
Language requirements: English B2
Duration of the study abroad program: 1 year (2 semesters)
Bachelor’s Thesis: The thesis must be written in English at HHN and supervised jointly by one professor each from HHN and VAMK (joint supervision with VAMK)

You will earn the following degrees:
- B.Sc. Betriebswirtschaft und Unternehmensführung (HHN)
- Bachelor of Business (Major: Business Administration) (UniSC)
Requirements:
- You must have completed at least 3 semesters (90 ECTS) and finished the foundational studies.
- Only students specializing in “International Management” may participate
Start date at the partner university: typically in the winter semester
Language requirements: English B2; no proof currently required
Duration of the study abroad program: 1 year (2 semesters)
Additional Information:
- The thesis can be written in German at HHN
- Tuition fees for studying at UniSC amount to 21,080 A$ per year (as of 08/2023)

- B.Sc. in Wirtschaftsinformatik (HHN)
- Bachelor of Information and Communications Technology, Major: Information Systems (UniSC)
Requirements:
- You must have completed at least 4 semesters (120 ECTS) and finished the foundational studies
- Only students in the specializations “IT Management” and “Development of Web-Based and Mobile IT Systems” may participate
Start at the partner university: usually in the winter semester
Language requirements: English B2; currently no proof required
Duration of the study abroad program: 1 year (2 semesters)

Further requirements: As part of the application at HKMU, you are required to give a fincancial proof of about 29.500 Euros (HK $250.000).
