Your membership as a student at Heilbronn University expires upon de-registration. Exmatriculation takes place upon application or for legal reasons.
If you have completed your studies, please apply for de-registration online at https://hhn.hispro.de with the reasons “Beendigung des Studiums nach bestandener Prüfung zu Semesterende“ or „Beendigung des Studiums nach bestandener Prüfung während des Semesters“.
As soon as your de-registration application is in the system, the library will carry out the discharge check. You do not need to submit anything to the library for this. This process can take some time. Please ensure in advance that there are no outstanding fees or books on loan in the library! If there are any outstanding items, your application will not be processed further and neither the certificate nor the certificate of exmatriculation can be issued immediately.
As soon as the certificate has been issued, you can normally also retrieve the certificate of exmatriculation online https://hhn.hispro.de
If you are continuing your studies in a Master's degree program, it is not necessary to de-register and clear your account in the library. Please only notify the relevant clerk in the Registrar's Office and the clerk in the Examinations Office of your planned continuation of studies.
Your responsible clerk in the Examination Office. You can find out who is responsible for you here.

If you are still registered for examinations, you can only be de-registered after your grades have been entered. If necessary, you can deregister from the examinations. This is possible up to 3 days before the examination is due to take place.
If you only wish to change your degree program, please contact the relevant course administrator at the Registration Office. In the event of a change, you will not be de-registered and do not need to apply for de-registration.
An application must be submitted online as under point 1. You can use this to submit the certificate of exmatriculation for an application to other universities.
Due to the high volume of applications, you should expect a processing time of several working days, especially at the end of the semester.
We therefore ask you to apply for the certificate of exmatriculation as soon as possible.
After exmatriculation, the certificate of exmatriculation can be retrieved online https://hhn.hispro.de
1. In the case of a new enrollment, you can waive your study place up to 4 weeks after the start of lectures. In this case, it is not necessary to apply for de-registration. In this case, please contact the responsible clerk at the Registration Office.
2. If you have lost your right to take examinations, you will be automatically exmatriculated at the end of the semester and do not need to submit an application. If you need the certificate promptly, it is still advisable to submit an application.
3. If you do not re-register, you will be exmatriculated for legal reason. However, if you require a certificate of de-registration as soon as possible, please contact the responsible clerk at the Registration Office.
4. If you change your degree program within Heilbronn University, you do not need to apply for de-registration. You must apply online to change your degree program.
