Activities in academic self-administration

In the summer semester of 2019, the cooperative doctoral procedure with the Technical University of Madrid in Spain will start. Interested candidates can contact Prof. Dr.-Ing. Javier Villalba-Diez directly. The main topics are

  • Artificial Intelligence (focus on Deep Learning Applications),
  • Business intelligence,
  • Operations Research,
  • Statistics and operational information systems.
  • Establishment of approaches of artificial intelligence and machine learning in business applications.

Starting in Wintersemester 2020, students from Hochschule Heilbronn can benefit from an Erasmus exchange student program with Universiad Politécnica de Madrid

Short CV

Javier Villalba-Diez, PhD. has the mission of empowering individuals and organizations achieve their strategic goals while increasing trust.

Dr. Villalba-Diez is a Mechanical Engineer with Technische Universität München, Germany and Industrial Engineer with Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain (2003). He received his PhD in Engineering, Economics and Organizational Innovation with focus on Strategic Organizational Design from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in 2016. His PhD was awarded with the prize for best doctoral thesis by Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

He has a background of more than 17 years as lean consultant and production manager in a number of positions related to manufacturing operations in German, American and Japanese manufacturing facilities.

His research and work has brought him to numerous companies and hundreds of factories, where he collaborates with people to test ideas and share lessons learned.

He splits his time between Germany, USA, Japan, and Spain.

Javier Villalba-Diez (PhD) currently does research in Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Hoshin Kanri, Business Intelligence, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Business Analytics.

Villalba-Diez is Guest Editor at MDPI Journal Sensors (ISSN 1424-822) with Impact Factor 3031 (2018).

He is usual reviewer of Journal Sustainability ((ISSN 2071-1050), Journal of Industrial Management & Data Systems (ISSN: 0263-5577), Journal of Manufacturing Systems (ISSN: 0278-6125), Journal Symmetry (ISSN 2073-8994), among other journals.
