“The institute conducts interdisciplinary applied research on logistics innovations, sustainable mobility, connected transportation systems, and alternative propulsion systems—with a focus on publicly funded projects and contract research.”

Currently, researchers at Heilbronn University—specifically at the LOGWERT Center of Excellence, established in 2015 through a collaboration with Fraunhofer IAO to serve public and private clients and funding agencies—are addressing issues in the transportation sector as well as developing business models for logistical innovations. The portfolio also includes the development of strategies and concepts for urban logistics and mobility, public transit, and air travel.

After six successful years, during which the LOGWERT Center of Excellence carried out numerous research projects, it was transformed in October 2021 into a university-affiliated research and transfer institute.

With this transition, an advisory board was established to support the institute’s professional and scientific development.
