Together We Build the House of Talents
Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences plays an indispensable role within the region. It provides practical training for future skilled professionals, conducts research and development in application-oriented cooperations with industry, and engages with other regional and supra-regional partners in science-practice collaborations. To ensure these services can continue to be provided in the future, HHN depends on excellent academic personnel.
Challenging Dream Job
The requirements for appointing professors present a challenge for universities of applied sciences (UAS). Career paths to UAS positions are often poorly structured. At the same time, the requirement profile is high: in addition to academic and didactic qualifications, extensive professional experience is required. However, recruitment from non-academic environments proves difficult. Therefore, the professional profile of UAS professors must become more attractive and significantly more visible in the region.
Creating Freedom and Daring to Innovate
To support the recruitment and development of professorial staff, HHN has secured funding under the BMBF Program UAS Personnel. By establishing a House of Talents, we are creating conditions over the next 6 years for
- establishing a strong employer brand,
- making UAS professorships more attractive and visible, and
- creating clear and structured career paths to UAS professorships
In addition to the existing research professorships, we are creating further innovative profile and focus professorships and implementing project-based, cooperative employment forms together with partners from the region. In this way, we open up structured qualification and career paths to UAS professorships for emerging academics. Together with our partners TUM Campus Heilbronn, Fraunhofer Kodis and the Research Center for Information Technology, we are piloting a total of six perspective professorships. This provides academic talents in the region with tangible career options from master's studies through doctoral degrees to UAS professorships.
Talents for the Transfer of Ideas and Knowledge
With our House of Talents, we develop sustainable structures and processes for proactive and networked talent management. This ensures long-term transfer of ideas and knowledge through people between science, industry and society. With cooperative personnel development, we want to integrate projects and careers more closely in the future. Therefore, with the successive development of a networking and cooperation platform, we will have a sustainable impact on the region and support HHN scientists in their activities in regional project networks.
