Increasing the efficiency of oil-separating gas filters through the experimental and simulative development of a new type of filter medium made from bicomponent fibers (BiGOFil)

Simulation-based and experimental development of an oil mist filter that increases the degree of separation at a lower pressure loss. Use of non-round, profiled bicomponent fibers with oil ducts and production of a fleece as a filter medium in the newly developed coalescence filter.

Bionic filters - simulation-based design of additively manufactured porous structures (BiFi)

Disruptive approach to CFD-supported topology optimization of filters that are additively manufactured and plasma-coated. Generic approach and proof-of-concept based on three key applications: particle filters for interiors, microplastic filters for washing machines, water separation membrane for diesel vehicles.

Study on air purifiers in a lecture hall

The aim of this study is to examine efficiency of air purifiers as a function of the occupancy of the room, the air exchange rate, as well as the temperature and relative humidity. In addition, the limits of the correlation between aerosol pollution and CO2 concentration is shown.

Test aerosols and methods for testing the effectiveness of air purification technologies against Sars-CoV-2 (test aerosols)

Definition of test aerosols, their application, characterization and sampling, proof of effectiveness of procedures for the inactivation of SARS-CoV-2 in aerosols as well as determination of the parameters of the devices and rooms that influence the proof of effectiveness.

High-tech aerosol mist separator in zero design (HAAZ)

CFD-based development of energetically highly efficient aerosol mist filters with excellent separation of even the smallest aerosol droplets. Applications: Oil mist filters for production halls and air dryer cartridges for air brakes.
