Course Content

The essence of the degree programme in Sustainable Procurement Management is to provide students with:

  • A fundamental education in business administration
  • Further studies and specialisation in the area of strategic and operative procurement
  • Consideration of economic, environmental and social aspects
  • Consideration of issues such as risk management, sustainability and globalisation
  • The development of key qualifications such as business English, social and leadership skills   
  • Course Structure

    The study programme is modular. A module can comprise one or more teaching events that are grouped thematically.

    In the first two academic semesters you will be taught sound basic business skills which are divided into the following modules:

  • Economic principles of management
  • Management decisions in operational performance processes
  • Quantitative methods and business information systems
  • Business English
  • Principles of corporate accounting
  • Legal and tax framework of management
  • Academic work   
  • The main course of study examines in depth issues in connection with the design principles and functions in procurement management. In addition to acquiring knowledge of national and international procurement markets, you will learn to obtain tenders, organise supply chains and conduct contract negotiations. The focus is always on aspects of sustainability. In addition to developing subject-specific competencies for use in international markets, the degree programme also promotes language and intercultural skills. The following comprise the higher-level modules of the main study programme:

  • Objects and Processes of Procurement
  • Legal aspects of procurement
  • Negotiation and Supplier Management

  • Technical aspects of procurement
  • Business Simulation   
  • A compulsory practical semester is integrated into the degree programme in the 5th semester. This is an opportunity to apply in practice the knowledge you have acquired so far. You will be supervised by a professor and be supported by our Internship Office.

    Are you interested in spending a semester abroad? Then you have the opportunity to study for a semester at one of our partner universities or to complete an internship abroad. In doing so, you will have the support of our International Office.
