What does diversity mean?

Diversity management at HHN aims to create a university that offers equal opportunities, that is open-minded and free of discrimination, where diversity is lived and everyone can freely develop his or her potential.

HHN subsumes the following topics under the key word diversity:

  • gender equality
  • anti-racism
  • religious diversity
  • inclusion
  • sexual and gender diversity
  • prevention of ageism
  • family friendliness
  • educational advancement

How is diversity work organised at HHN?

The Equality and Diversity Unit is a staff unit of the Prorectorate for International Affairs and Diversity. We work closely together with the Gender Equality Officer, the Equal Opportunities Officer, the representatives against discrimination and bullying as well as the representative body for severely disabled people. Our work is supported by the Senate Commission on Equality and Diversity and the Family Working Group.

What are our specific projects?

Current projects of our unit are, for example, the family-friendly university audit, anti-discrimination work, activities for the advancement of women and international students and the managemet of the Room of Silence. Here you can find an overview.
