Hello everyone! My name is Fabienne. I am 23 years old and I am studying Management and Human Resources at the Schwäbisch Hall campus. I have been in an exchange semester at the Handong Global University in South Korea 🇰🇷.
As a management and HR major, having exposure to the American, European and Asian markets is key. I think it is important to understand and immerse oneself in as many cultures as possible 🗺.
Reviewing all the partner Universities HHN has, I decided to go to South Korea. In the last 50 years, since the Korean War, South Korea has rapidly grown from a third-world country into a major global player. Initially, I applied to Inha University in Incheon, South Korea because I liked that it looked modern and was close to the capital. I was offered HGU and chose to accept because it was still part of the Asian culture. Happily, HGU was a perfect fit for me, despite being on the other end of the country in a small city. My highlights were many, but here are my top three: 1️⃣ meeting so many different people from all over the world and making lifelong friendships. 2️⃣ the comfortable communal atmosphere throughout the dormitory and University generally. And finally, 3️⃣ the amazing excursions, throughout the country, organized and sponsored by the University. What I will remember for a long time is how I survived one week in a Korean hospital, with no English-speaking people around, and Google translator.😅😆
