Once again, this year, the „International Study Week“ could be offered to the Master students the Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences (HHN). In the past years, many impressive experiences were gained and instructive journeys undertaken with the students through the offer within the framework of the elective subject "Intercultural Study Week". The "Intercultural Study Week" enables students to gain intercultural experience during their studies, to get to know the way universities and companies work abroad, to apply their language skills practically and in a professional environment, and to exchange ideas with the lecturers and students there. The "Intercultural Study Week" usually takes place with different partner universities of the HHN abroad.
High-ranking international guest speakers
The Virtual Study Tour and the Student Conference included a wide range of contributions from guest speakers from various partner universities and renowned international institutions such as the German-Russian Chamber of Commerce Moscow, Russia, German-Brazilian Chamber of Industry & Commerce Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, SAP Deutschland SE & Co KG Germany, The University of British Columbia Kelowna, Canada and the School of Aerospace Engineering Xiamen University, China.
The Virtual Study Tour was organised and accompanied by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Ott and Prof. Dr. Ralf Dillerup. Prof. Ott is Professor of Technical Optics and Design and Programme, Director of the International Study Programmes and the Master's Programmes at the Faculty of Mechanics and Electronics (T1), Prof. Dillerup lectures at the Faculty of Business and Transport Management (WV). He is Professor of Strategic Management and Controlling, Head of the Institute for Strategy & Controlling at HHN as well as the, Academic Chair of the Heilbronn University Graduate School (HUGS).
In addition, the Virtual Study Tour was able to collaborate with Prof. Dillerup's virtual "Global Business Event" on the 14th and 15th November 2020, which was organised by Ulrike Weingart and Fiona Oster. Ulrike Weingart is the project manager for the Centre for Family Business at HHN. Ms. Oster is a lecturer at HUGS for Innovation Management, Entrepreneurship, Global Business and Business Strategy.
The Virtual Study Tour concluded with the Student Conference, where the participating students from the elective subject "Intercultural Study Week" presented their previously prepared presentations. Their contributions included the Corona impact on different sectors such as e-mobility, tourism and the working environment.
Despite the challenges associated with the Corona pandemic, the organisers, Prof. Ott, Prof. Dillerup and Ms. Mine Altunkas (International Coordinatior for International Study Programmes at the Faculty of Mechanics and Electronics) are glad to be able to look back proudly to a successful Virtual Study Tour.
