Bachelor’s degree seeking applicants
The general requirement for studying at Heilbronn University is that an applicant holds an academic qualification which would enable him/her to study the chosen subject in his/her home country.International applicants need to have their university entrance qualification confirmed by Auslaenderstudienkolleg ASK (Institute for International Students) in Konstanz; the ASK will also have to confirm that their German language skills are sufficient. The ASK handles these applications for all Universities of Applied Sciences of the land/state Baden-Wuerttemberg. All relevant information you may find on the website of the ASK.

Chinese, Mongolian and Vietnamese applicants have to attach the original certificate or the original confirmation that proves the authenticity of their documents issued by the "Akademische Prüfstelle" of the German Embassy (APS).

Applicants from EU member states who possess a German university entrance qualification are treated as German citizens and should follow the normal applications and admissions procedure. They should send the normal application form directly to Heilbronn University.
German language requirements
All Bachelor degree programmes at Heilbronn University are taught primarily in German. Degree-seeking students must provide evidence of proficiency in German, by means of either
- DSH (Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang / German Language Examination for Academic Purposes) - DSH-2 or DSH-3 are required for admission to Heilbronn University, or
- TestDaF (Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache / Test in German as a Foreign Language) - The average result must be at least TDN 4.
Only once the ASK confirms that both the academic qualifications and the German skills of an applicant are sufficient you can apply to Heilbronn University.
Therefore please fill out the application form for admission.
You can
- print out the form as a blank, fill it in by hand, sign it and send it to Heilbronn University by post by the deadline or
- enter your details online and send them to the University electronically. If you do this, you must then print out the completed form, sign it and send it to the University by post as confirmation. Your application cannot be fully processed without your signature.
Please note:
Your application is not complete until you have printed out the completed PDF document, signed it and sent it to Heilbronn University by the deadline and with all the required documentation.
If you cannot print out the application form or apply online, please contact the Student Office (Studentensekretariat) and ask for a paper application form to be sent to you by post.
Application deadline for all Bachelor programmes at Heilbronn University are
- 15th July for the winter term
- 15th January for the summer term
Some Bachelor programmes only starts once a year for the winter term – please check before applying.
Your completed application must arrive at the University not later than the mentioned deadlines.
Please note that, for reasons of data protection, we are not able to give any information over the telephone about the status of your application.
Applications which are submitted after the deadline, or which are incomplete, will not be considered.
Heilbronn University will issue a letter of admission (Zulassungsbescheid) to all applicant who have submitted their applications within the deadline, who have satisfied the entry requirements and who have been awarded a study space as a result of the selection procedure by
- the beginning of February for the summer term and
- the beginning of August for the winter term
All applicants who have received such an offer have to accept it in writing within a ten-day deadline otherwise their right to join their chosen study programme will lapse!
